During 2017/2018, the Government is continuing to provide additional funding for schools to improve the PE and Sport provision.

What will the Sports Premium Grant be spent on during 2017 – 2018?

At Park Walk Primary School, each pupil from Reception to Year 6 receives 2 hours high quality Physical Education per week.

We are using our Sport Premium to improve the quality of PE and Sport provision in the following ways:

  • employing a dedicated Sports Teacher – 5 days a week  
  • employing a dedicated Sports Teaching Assistant – 5 days a week
  • CPD for dedicated Sports Teacher in areas such as dance
  • offering an active start to the day for our breakfast club
  • Continuation of swimming provision for Reception and KS1
  • Entering Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea leagues and competitions – throughout the year
  • Increasing the activities and resources available to the children at lunch time
  • Planning sports events throughout academic year to inspire, motivate and engage the children with Sport
  • Engage in projects with Chelsea Football Club
  • Buying new equipment and resources to enhance the learning of PE
  • Increased after school provision of sports clubs – street dance, netball, fit for sport
  • Buying kit appropriate for the children to wear during PE lessons
