Sports Premium

During 2019/2020, the Government is continuing to provide additional funding for schools to improve the PE and Sport provision.


Sports Premium Funding at Park Walk

Park Walk Sports Grant 2017 – 2018  (based on 176 children)


Park Walk Sports Grant 2018 – 2019  (based on 169 children)  £16,000 plus £10 per pupil


Park Walk Sports Grant 2019 – 2020   (based on 166 children)  £16,000 plus £10 per pupil



What will the Sports Premium Grant be spent on during 2019 – 2020?

At Park Walk Primary School, each pupil from Reception to Year 6 receives 2 hours high quality Physical Education per week.

We are using our Sport Premium to improve the quality of PE and Sport provision in the following ways:

  • employing a dedicated Sports Teacher – 5 days a week  
  • employing a dedicated Sports Teaching Assistant – 5 days a week
  • investing in new equipment to support the development of the new playground facilities
  • continuing to engage with Chelsea Football Club
  • strengthening links and connections for children to engage with live sport
  • increasing the opportunities for competitive sport within school PE units as well as with other local schools
  • increasing the fitness levels of children in KS1-KS2
  • increasing opportunities for targeted groups during lunchtime
  • continuation of swimming provision for Reception and KS1
  • buying PE kit for all children to participate during PE lessons
  • planning sports events throughout academic year to inspire, motivate and engage the children with Sport
  • entering Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea leagues and competitions – throughout the year
