Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

Sports Premium

During 2018/2019, the Government is continuing to provide additional funding for schools to improve the PE and Sport provision. The Government have double the amount due to each school this year.

What will the Sports Premium Grant be spent on during 2018 – 2019?

At Park Walk Primary School, each pupil from Reception to Year 6 receives 2 hours high quality Physical Education per week.

We are using our Sport Premium to improve the quality of PE and Sport provision in the following ways:

  • employing a dedicated Sports Teacher – 5 days a week  
  • employing a dedicated Sports Teaching Assistant – 5 days a week
  • CPD for dedicated Sports Teacher
  • continuation of swimming provision for Reception and KS1
  • entering Royal Borough of Kensington and EPIC sport leagues throughout the year so that children can extend their interests and talents
  • entering Royal Borough of Kensington and EPIC sport competitions – throughout the year so that children have the opportunity to play and participate in physical activity against other schools.
  • increasing the activities and resources available to the children throughout the school day
  • planning in school sports events throughout academic year to inspire, motivate and engage the children with Sport
  • planning inter house competitions within classes throughout the year for children to compete competitively
  • engaging in projects with Chelsea Football Club
  • buying new equipment and resources to enhance the learning of PE
  • increased after school provision of sports clubs
  • buying kit appropriate for the children to wear during PE lessons
  • Support with the new kit for the football team
  • Support the development of the Change for Life Club to target the less active children
