Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

Sports Premium

During 2019/2020, the Government is continuing to provide additional funding for schools to improve the PE and Sport provision.


Sports Premium Funding at Park Walk


Park Walk Sports Grant 2018 – 2019  (based on 169 children)  £16,000 plus £10 per pupil


Park Walk Sports Grant 2019 – 2020   (based on 166 children)  £16,000 plus £10 per pupil


Park Walk Sports Grant 2020 – 2021   (based on 147children)  £16,000 plus £10 per pupil



What will the Sports Premium Grant be spent on during 2020 – 2021?

At Park Walk Primary School, each pupil from Reception to Year 6 receives 2 hours high quality Physical Education per week.

We are using our Sport Premium to improve the quality of PE and Sport provision in the following ways:

  • employing a dedicated Sports Teacher – 5 days a week   
  • continuing to engage with Chelsea Football Club to enrich our sports’ curriculum, including equality and diversity
  • develop opportunities for the children to be competitive with other schools in a virtual way
  • continue to plan and provide in school competitive events and opportunities for children across all year groups
  • increase the fitness levels of children in KS1-KS2 especially post lock down
  • continuation of swimming provision for Reception and KS1 using our onsite training swimming pool
  • maintain the high profile of PE and sport across the school and community
  • provide CPD for dedicated sports teacher
  • provide CPD for class teachers from dedicated sports teacher
