Safeguarding

All policies linked to Safeguarding can be found in the Policies tab.

Safeguarding and child protection is everyone’s responsibility at Park Walk. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is protected, valued and able to thrive.

Our safeguarding policies and procedures apply to all aspects of school life, including extended school provision and off-site activities. All staff receive comprehensive safeguarding and child protection training at three times a year, alongside weekly safeguarding briefings and additional sessions on specific topics in line with national and local guidance and statutory requirements.

As part of our statutory duties, Park Walk actively promotes the Prevent agenda, helping children to recognise and respond to risks of radicalisation and extremism. The Prevent duty forms part of a whole-school approach to preparing children for life in modern Britain and sits within a culture of zero tolerance for sexism, misogyny, homophobia, biphobia, and all forms of sexual violence or harassment.

In practice, this means we help children to develop respect for others, think critically, and understand how to stay safe from extremist or harmful influences. Through our curriculum and daily interactions, we teach children to celebrate diversity, challenge stereotypes and build positive, respectful relationships, so they grow up as kind, confident and responsible members of the community.

We work closely with families and a range of external agencies to ensure that our children are kept safe and well supported.
