Admissions for Under 3 Year Olds to the Seedlings Nursery
Application and Eligibility
Parents and Carers of prospective pupils wishing to join Park Walk Primary School Seedlings Under 3s Nursery should apply on the school’s admission form (via the school office) and provide proof of their child’s date of birth and home address.
Pupils are eligible to join the Seedlings Under 3s Nursery from 3 months old.
From April 2024, working parents of two-year-olds will be able to access 15 hours of free childcare. From September 2024, 15 hours of free childcare will be extended to all children from the age of nine months. There are options to increase the hours of attendance if we have the capacity.
Our Park Walk Offer:
Parents and carers have the option to apply for a part time or full time place.
Monday to Friday during term time:
Part Time 1 - 8am until 12pm
Part Time 2 – 12.30pm until 4.30pm
Full Time - 8 – 5.45pm
Application and Offer
Applications will be accepted throughout the year and places allocated, subject to availability.
Places offered must be accepted in writing, within 14 days of the date on the offer letter.
Admissions for 3 AND 4 YEAR OLDS
Application and Eligibility
Parents and Carers of prospective pupils wishing to join Park Walk Primary School 3 and 4 year old Nursery should apply on the school’s admission form (via the school office) and provide proof of their child’s date of birth and home address.
Pupils are eligible to join the 3 and 4 year old Nursery in the term following their third birthday.
Pupils are entitled to 15 or 30 hours per week Nursery education funded by the government. Advance application is helpful for our admission procedures.
Our Park Walk Offer:
The expectation is that those in Seedlings under 3s Nursery will progress into the 3 – 4 year old Nursery when they turn three and places will be reserved for them.
Parents and carers have the option to apply for a part time or full time place. Priority will be given to applications for full time places*.
Full Time Places:
From 9am until 3.30pm Monday to Friday during term time. Places will be allocated using the following criteria, in the following order of priority:
Children already in the Seedlings under 3s Nursery (full or part time)
Those eligible for 30 free hours (with a valid code) and have a sibling** in the school or the child of a member of the school staff
Any other eligible for 30 free hours (with a valid code) – based on distance (as the crow flies)
Pay a top up fee and have a sibling** in the school or the child of a member of the school staff
Pay a top up fee – based on distance (as the crow flies)
Lunch is an additional cost for full time places.
Part Time Places:
From 9am until 12pm Monday to Friday during term time. Places will be allocated, subject to availability, based on distance (as the crow flies), using the following criteria, in the following order of priority:
Children already in the Seedlings under 3s Nursery (full or part time)
Siblings in school already
Children of a member of the school staff
Distance
Lunch is not provided for part time places.
Application deadline
The deadline for applications each year will be the last day of the Autumn Term.
Those children already in the Seedlings under 3s Nursery (full or part time) will need to confirm their acceptance of the space reserved for them by the last day of the autumn term.
Advice of Offer
Offers of a place at Park Walk Primary School 3 and 4 year old Nursery will be advised to parents by the Friday following the return to school after the Christmas break. If the school is not able to offer a place parents/carers will be asked if they wish their child’s name to remain on a waiting list for possible future vacancies.
Places will be offered in January of each year and this will continue until all places are filled. Places offered must be accepted in writing, within 14 days.
